Not just fish and chips
One of the things every visitor to Whitby notices is the queue outside The Magpie, in all weathers and seasons, waiting to sample the finest fish dishes in Yorkshire. The Magpie's fish and chips, seafood chowder, my favourite the seafood pot, and other delicious fish dishes really are exceptional and set them apart from the many other 'fish and chips' offerings in the area. There's a reason they were listed in The Times Top 100 British restaurants last year! They deserve their fantastic reputation for their good quality food (fresh from the fish market in front of the restaurant) and the consistently attentive, friendly service.
