The lovely new bathroom is in and we think it's splendid. Nothing is plain sailing in an old farm building and it soon became apparent that the room was a rhombus so it needed to be straightened out to allow the new suite a nice straight edge to butt up to. That meant we lost a little area overall, but this was countered by the additional deep windowsill space, gained by revealing the previously blocked up window and by having the door opening outward into the living room. We also took the decision to bring the floor up level with the living room floor so there'd be no step down anymore and the floor will feel warmer, especially with its lovely Karndean Asciano covering.
The walls are covered in beautiful Nuance wall panels in Platinum Travertine Riven. Hooray - no grout! Gone is the clunky light fitting, replaced by 3 bright LED downlighters. There is now a basin cabinet so you have somewhere to pop your wash bag and a tall towel radiator to bring added warmth and, well frankly somewhere to hang your towel.
We hope you will enjoy the new bathroom as much as we did on our mini- break last night - Hey, we felt it was only fair that we got first go!
