It's a dog's life
During the winter months many of our beaches become more available to dogs and with less humans getting in their way they can run and play until they're exhausted (you could join in too!).
Sandsend beach, just 2 miles north of Whitby, is wide, long and sandy so has plenty of space to throw balls and sticks. When the pupsters and you are worn out Sandside cafe http://www.sandsidecafe.co.uk is a great spot to pull up a chair and chill out with a monster hot chocolate topped with cream and marshmallows. The covered outdoor space is dog friendly and they have tasty menu of cakes, pies, hot snacks and fresh seafood. They are also fully licensed. You can't beat it for a stunning view of the beach with Lythe headland at one end of the 2 mile bay and Whitby Abbey silhouetted on the skyline at the other. If your dogs could choose a beach they'd choose Sandsend Beach.
