Are you open all year round?
Yes we are. We open every day from April to October and weekends and selected weekdays from November to March
Can I bring my dog?
Sorry but we don't allow dogs at the pod site (although we do allow them in our holiday cottage). We only allow assistance dogs.
Is there WiFi?
There is wifi available in and around our reception building from 07.30 - 22.00. Mobile phone signal can be very good, depending on the provider.
Can I park next to my pod?
No, the pods are in a fenced grassy area making it safer for children (and wildlife) with no traffic passing. The car parking area is adjacent with no more than an approximately 60-80 metre walk to your pod. Click on Map (in the menu to the left of this) to see the layout of the site.
Are all the pods the same?
There are 3 types of pod - Standard, Superior (ensuite wc) and during low and shoulder seasons, Posh Pod (fully furnished with ensuite wc)
What size is the pod?
Each pod has at least 350 cm x 226 cm (11'6" x 7'5") of floor space
Is there a bed in the pod?
There is a simple sofa bed in each pod that can be used as a bed or left just to sit on. When opened flat it is 188cm long and 114cm wide (about 3'8" wide) so two small/regular sized people can sleep on it. If this doesn't sound big enough for you then we would advise bringing sufficient airbeds/campbeds. We hire single airbeds for £2 per night or £5 per stay. Posh Pod has a proper double bed and bedding is included.
How many people can sleep in each pod?
We say up to 4 adults or 2 adults and up to 3 children (see size of pod above). Posh Pod sleeps just 2 adults in a double bed
Do you provide bedding?
Bedding isn't provided, you'll need to bring your bedding or sleeping bags and pillows however, we do have bedding packs (for the sofa bed only: mattress topper, sheet, duvet, 2 pillows) available to rent for £20 per stay. Limited availability so please book in advance of your stay to avoid disappointment. Posh Pod includes bedding
What else should I bring?
There's a simple sofabed (188cm x 114cm opened out) in each pod so you will need to bring airbeds/campbeds for any additional persons in your pod. There is also a kettle in every pod. Otherwise it's really is up to you but a lot of people bring a towel, disposable or camping/small barbecue, coolbox, camp chairs, camp stove, cups, plates, cutlery, matches or lighter, camp table, small lamp, mirror, midge repellent ( June to August) and even fairy lights! Don't forget your toothbrush.
We do have airbeds, coolboxes and camping stoves available to rent - see the 'News' section for details or give us a call to reserve.

Can we cook in the pod?
It's fine to use a kettle in your pod but no toasters, microwave ovens or any naked flames. Posh Pod includes a microwave oven
Is there covered outdoor space if its raining?
Yes there are two rustic tin roofed shelters that you can cook under so you can still have that barbecue
Is there a fridge available?
There isn't a fridge but there is a freezer so you can refreeze your ice packs for your coolboxes. We also have coolboxes available to rent for £2 per day or £5 per stay.
Posh Pod includes a small fridge with a small ice compartment that fits one or 2 ice trays only (posh Pod only available September to early July)
Is the pod heated?
Each pod is very well insulated and has an electric panel heater that keeps you toasty warm when it's chilly outside.
Is there a shower in the pod?
The pod is like a wooden tent with power points, a heater and just one simple sofa bed provided. Three of our pods have an ensuite WC with basin and hot water. Showers and more WCs are in a separate building on site.
Is there a shop nearby?
There's a well stocked Spar shop in Sleights, a mile and a quarter away (open 07.00-22.00), an award winning butcher, Radfords (next to Spar) and a branch of Bothams bakery a couple of doors down from Spar, opposite the village car park (free to park).
Is there a pub/cafe nearby?
The Plough Inn in Sleights is a mile away and takes 18 minutes to walk each way along the road (not a busy road) http://ploughinnsleights.co.uk.
There is also a fantastic fish and chip shop (rivals any of the Whitby offerings!) Eskdale Fisheries, just a little way further on than The Plough.(since the virus opening is Wed to Sat only. Order by phone, pre arranged collection time)
Grosmont, home of the Heritage Railway, a mile and a half away, also has the Station Tavern, Co-op, numerous cafe's and a gallery with a fantastic cafe and pizza restaurant.
The Stables Restaurant is 3.5 miles away, enroute to Whitby and serves breakfast from 7am (lunches and dinners also served)
Can I bring a firepit/firebowl/brazier?
We don't allow the above (or any naked flames other than barbecues or gas stoves) in the pod area but we have a lovely communal campfire area in the adjacent East field for everyone's use. Bring your marshmallows!
Do you provide wood for the fire?
We sell bags of dry logs for £5.
Can we pitch a gazebo next to our pod?
We are only a tiny site so we don't allow any additional gazebos or pup tents pitched, but we do have some covered cooking areas near the pods should it rain.
Can I get to Partridge Nest Farm by public transport?
There is a station in Sleights on the Middlesbrough to Whitby line. The station is approximately one and a half miles from Partridge Nest farm. There is a bus that runs from Whitby to Sleights (Arriva 95). The Arriva X93 also runs regularly between Scarborough, Whitby and Middlesborough and there are trains to Scarborough from York, Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester.
